Bolton News 1st March

LAST week’s matches exposed the disparity between teams in the Premier Division with no less than three 9-0 results.

Hilton A beat Ramsbottom C, second-placed Ramsbottom A beat Ladybridge A, and top-placed Flixton A had already beaten their own B team in a pre-fixture encounter.

Two closer matches were Nomads A overcoming Burning Desire 6-3 with a treble by Charles Musa and Ramsbottom B just losing to Radcliffe CC 5-4, helped by a treble from Brian Clemments.

In Division Two a very common result throughout the season is 6-3. Last week it was Ladybridge B who beat Top Spinners and Hilton F fell to Meadow BEN A. Rambsbottom D won 8-1 away to Farnworth SC with Carl Bennet saving the whitewash for Farnworth.

In Division Three, despite a treble by Jack Berry, Meadow BEN B lost 5-4 away to St Paul’s Peel A.

Harper Brass won away to Polonia Club by the same score with another consistent treble by Keane Mills.

Hilton G’s Ian Raby and Jeff Saunders both trebled to overcome Walkden Methodists 7-2. Heaton D beat hapless bottom-of-the-table Meadow Hill A 8-1 with a five-setter going down to the wire to save the whitewash by Roy Platt.
