BOLTON NEWS 30th November

Last week in the Premier Division, Nomads A took advantage of bottom of the Division Coburg A to win 25-7 with maximum nines from Fred Turban and Arkadiusz Wojciak. Mid table Flixton B also had the expected win against second from the bottom Ladybridge A 24-10 with a nine from Jordon Potts. A mid table clash between Radcliffe Cricket Club and Wharton saw Radcliffe triumph 20-14 despite a resisting nine from Wharton’s Barry Elliott. A nine from Hilton A’s Mark Gibson saw them through 18-15 against a two man Little Lever CC A. In the first week of two big clashes, second placed Ramsbottom Cricket Club, with what must appear to be a somewhat greater urgency than applied than in their previous match, took apart top of the table Flixton A 26-6 with nines from Shaun Doherty and newly acquired Hao Chih. The teams now change places in the table.

In Division One Burning Desire march on towards their expected place back in the Premier with a maximum 27-7 against Hilton B. Second placed Acre Bottom only had a two man team as they fell 19-13 to Farnworth SC A as did a two man Hilton C losing 25-7 to Wingates. Ramsbottom Town B’s nine from Keith Howarth helped them in a closely fought match against bottom of the table Meadow Ben A to win 19-16. There was a very close match between fifth placed BRASS TTC A against ninth placed Coburg B with the former taking it 17-16. Little Lever B only had a single player as they went down to Nomads B 22-7.

In Division Two mid table Hilton F took advantage of a bottom of the table two man Top Spinners to win 27-4. The other matches were more equal affairs with Ladybridge B overcoming Boyzone 22-12 with a nine from John Birchall. Bolton TTC A won 21-13 against Heaton Cricket Club C with nines from Kirit Chauhan and Nayem Alam and Hilton E had a 23-15 win over Meadow Ben B.
In Division Three a mid table clash saw Meadow Ben C beat Hilton G 23-10 assisted by a nine from Ian Wheeldon. Top of the table Bolton TTC B had a comfortable 23-11 win against second from the bottom Walkden Methodists with a nine from Sam Greenhalgh. Second placed St. Paul’s Peel beat bottom of the table Farnworth SC C 22-14.

Division Four’s third placed Meadow Hill A, hoping to take advantage of the clash between the top two teams, beat Irlam Steel 23-11 with a nine from Roy Platt. The top clash between junior team Hilton I and their H team went 19-15 to the juniors maintaining their relative positions just above Meadow Hill. A two man Meadow Hill B went down 24-6 to Albany.

The matches taking place this week see the completion of the first half of the season.
