With the match score at 2-2, the match came down to the final game between Hayden and Ioan. Hayden proved too strong for Ioan and claimed a 3-0 win and overall victory for the Vikings. The Vikings finished 2nd in the league, while the Panthers finish in 3rd.
The young teams of Abertillery Dragons and Abertillery Tigers went head to head, with both teams aiming to finish the league with a second win. It was the Dragons who came out on top winning every match 3-0 for a 5-0 victory against Tiger's Jack Baker and Sam Slatter. Despite the scoreline suggesting a comfortable win for the Dragon's, there were some very clsoe sets which could have gone either way and the Tigers should take confidence from their performance. Maximum points for the Dragons meant they finished in 4th place, while the Tigers stay in 6th.
So congratulations to Abertillery Warriors who are the inaugural winners of Blaenau Gwent Community League. Deserving winners with 5 wins out of 5 in the league. Also well done to Panther's Garin Edwards who remained undefeated throughout the season. Well done to everyone who took part in the league over the five weeks.
There will be now be a league singles tournament which will take place on Sunday 28th June 2-4pm.
