2012-13 Week 11
Pete Waite and Lindon Douglas are two of the fastest players in the Birmingham League and both enjoyed quick maximums for Hamstead A against their B team in the Premier Division.  Owen Malcolm beat Steve Robinson for the B team’s only success in a 9-1 defeat.
 
Michael Bree and Jody Bevington were also max men for Beaufort Sports C in Division One as they mauled Smiths Wood B 8-2.  Sutton Coldfield C edged Bournville A 6-4, despite an impressive treble from Parijat De, as pen-holder Andy Choi and British deaf international Andy Calloway picked up two singles each.  Pat McCabe is enjoying a fine spell of form and reeled off another hat-trick against Sutton Coldfield A, which included an 11-9 in the fifth victory over Trevor Davies.  Sutton Coldfield B and Streetly C drew 5-5 with Sutton’s Purdip Shoker the only unbeaten player, who also combined with John Ludford for doubles success.
 
Colebridge Chiefs are on the promotion trail in Division Two after a 7-3 win at Smithereens, as youngster Sam Henderson and the evergreen Neil Wheatley reeled off trebles.  Martin George gained a maximum for Bournville C at Colebridge Eagles, but the Eagles continued their winning form in 2013 with a 6-4 success.  Colebridge Giants were indebted to an unbeaten display from Roy Holloway in an easy 8-2 triumph over Colebridge Falcons.
 
Gordon Hodges and Roger Ellerington were too good for Smiths Wood C in a 9-1 thumping of Streetly D in Division Three.  Ivy Leaf A remain high-fliers in the section after a 6-4 victory at Bournville D, courtesy of a treble from the impressive Barry Clarke.  Father-and-son Mark and Sam Georgevic picked up two singles each as Jacombs A won 7-3 at Walmley A.
 
Gerald Billington baffled Colebridge Jaguars with his unothodox mixture of skills to lead Sutton Coldfield F to a 6-4 victory in a Division Four encounter.  Leading individaul Tim Fell was amongst the Billington victims, but picked up his other two singles to stay top of the pile in the division.  Dave Freeman was the max star for Quinborne in their 6-4 home win over Smiths Wood D.  Bournville E wrapped up an 8-2 success at Walmley B thanks to a Tony Sheldon hat-trick.
 
The reliable Derek Palser gained another treble for Ivy Leaf B over Bournville G in Division Five, with his side gaining a 6-4 victory.  Jamie Fellows proved the trump card for Colebridge Knaves with a maximum in a 7-3 away success at Streetly E.
