Summer week 9

Colebridge Aces increased their lead at the top of Division 1 with a comprehensive 9-1 win at home over Sutton Coldfield A. Rajinder Davsi and Navinder Matharu starred with hat tricks and Kate Hughes weighed in with two.  Only Trevor Davies with a single win earned some consolation for the visitors.  Terry Cooper’s unconventional skills tipped the balance for Streetly A giving them a 6-4 home win over Smithereens A.  His treble was supported by two from James Rudge as Streetly won the last two sets of the night to edge home.  Jason Hadley won two for the visitors.

Colebridge Braves continued their dash for the Division 2 title with a maximum at Smithereens B 8-2. There were hat tricks for Lee Holtham and Mike Evetts who enjoyed his best performance of the season. Stephen Smith won one for the Darlaston men and was unlucky not to beat Holtham losing a classic 11-9 in the fifth. Bournville maintained their title ambitions with a tight 6-4 home win over Streetly B.  Yet another maximum form John Waters was more than matched by a solid team performance from the Cadbury boys for whom Parijat De and Les Minott won two apiece.
