Summer Week 4

In Division 1 Colebridge Aces maintained their unbeaten record with an 8-2 away win at Sutton Coldfield A, with Amann Ubhi and Kate Hughes both unbeaten.  Beaufort Sports A and Smiths Wood A shared the points in a see-saw battle where the teams were never more than a set apart.  Alan Caffery was once again the star with another treble.  Only Jessica Birbeck troubled him on the night losing in the fifth game.  Rob Rowson won two for Beaufort to continue his good form.

Another tight match in Division 2 saw Streetly B draw at home with Bournville as both teams pursued their quest for honours. Parijat De notched a notable treble for Bournville leading a fight back from 5-3 down. The experienced Colin Oakes won two for Streetly B as both sides preserved unbeaten records.  Colebridge Braves made it maximum points from three matches with a 10-0 home win over Smithereens B.  Lee Holtham, Steve Taylor and Dean Hicks had it mainly their own way although Association Chairman Steve Smith took Taylor to five and was unlucky to lose.  Sutton Coldfield B earned three very welcome points defeating Maypole A 6-4, victory being clinched by maximum man Roy Astle in the last set of the evening.  Jim Ferguson picked up two wins for Maypole as they fought right to the end in a close match.

Only a victory for Sam Henderson over Dapo Balogun prevented a scoreless evening for Maypole B at Hamstead in Division 3. Dixon and Virdi reigned supreme for the home team who have maximum points from four matches and appear to be the team to beat in this section.
