This consistent quartet have brushed aside the expected challenge of former champions Colebridge Aces and it will be a major shock if Hamstead slipped up now.
Steve Taylor picked up another maximum for Colebridge Lions against Sutton Coldfield E in Division Three, but the visitors still came on top by a 6-4 margin thanks to two wins each from Chris Harris, Clive Oakman and Boni Amin. Jim Ferguson inspired Maypole B to a 6-4 win at Walmley A, which included an epic 14-12 in the fifth success over Maurice Clayton.
Pulkit Bawa gained a maximum for Quinbotne B in a 6-4 home win over Colebridge Magpies in Division Four, with Kevin Bray and Oliver New notching two wins each for Magpies. Sutton Coldfield H have been forced to withdraw from the section, due to illness and injury.
Beaufort Sports D beat F.Jacombs A 7-3, although Howard Lewis was unbeaten for the losers. Luke Taylor was another maximum performer for Colebridge Nobles in a comfortable 7-3 victory over Maypole C, in a match which saw teammate Alan Buttle and Sam Henderson of Maypole pick up two each. Ivy Leaf B thumped Sutton Coldfield I 8-2 with the consistent Derek Palser gaining a treble, but the match of the night saw Colin Benton recovering to beat Sutton's Janet Matthews 11-6 in the decider.
