League Week 6

Scott Prime the former Birmingham and Warwickshire champion, made a stunning first appearance of the season for Smiths Wood A in the Premier Division.  The consistent top spinner included former teammate Jack Williamson amongst his three victims against Beaufort Sports A in a 6-4 victory.  Colebridge Aces got back to winning ways with a 10-0 mauling of Smiths Wood C.  Rob Rowson gained a maximum for Beaufort Sports B in a comfortable 8-2 success over Smithereens A.  Hamstead B crushed Smiths Wood B 9-1. thanks to John Collymore and John Patel trebles.


Sutton Coldfield C won 8-2 at Streetly B in Division One with Purdip Shoker the star man.  Jason Hadley. Martin Round and Trevor Davies put in a fine team effort to give Sutton A a 6-4 triumph at Bournville A.  Streetly B edged Maypole A 6-4. while Sutton B beat strugglers Sandwell Unison 9-1, following maximums from Clive Stretton and Andy Calloway.  Paul Ducros was unbeaten for West Midlands Police A in their 7-3 victory over Colebridge Braves.


Mike Cooper and Milad Elsoueidi both gained hat-tricks for Sutton Coldfield D at Colebridge Chiefs in Division Two in a 9-1 demolition.  England over 60 international Ray Dixon was not surprisingly unplayable for Colebridge Dinosaurs at Smithereens B in a 9-1 victory, as Mark Georgeovic also won three singles.  Colebridge Falcons and Smiths Wood D drew 5-5, with Bernard Oliver of Falcons the only unbeaten player.


Dave Lyne and Martin Clayton gained maximums for Bournville B in their Third Division clash with Sutton Coldfield F, which Bournville won 7-3.  Maypole B beat Bournville B 6-4, with Andy Rowlands gaining the crucial success over Clayton. Colebridge Jaguars thrashed clubmates Colebridge Knaves 9-1. via John Cox and Chris Welsh trebles.  Cox also gained a maximum in the 5-5 draw at Walmley A. Steve Taylor was unbeaten for Colebridge Lions in a 7-3 victory over Colebridge Knaves.  Streetly C had a 7-3 success over Ivy Leaf A, as Richard Parks picked up another three wins.  Andy Nicol and Clive Oakman were in impresive form for Sutton Coldfield E against their F side, in a 9-1 scoreline.
