Chronicle Report 12th May 2016

Yatton Keynell B have completed a cup double, winning the Restricted Cup for First and Second Division teams to add to the Handicap Cup won the previous week. They beat Ensleigh 5-3 in a hard fought final played at Monkton Combe. Man of the match Mark Terrell’s maximum plus a brace from Steve Richardson settled the tie, but both had to come from behind to beat Ian Clark in five sets. Clark could only win one game in the end, to add to Adam Thorne’s pair for Ensleigh.

Meanwhile Oldfield C squeezed into the runners-up position in the Premier Division, pipping Bathford A by a single point. They needed at least nine points from their final match against Key Centre A and the team of Nigel Dagger, Paul Redman, and Jim Stevens clinched second place by winning 10-0 at Keynsham.
