Key Centre B kept up their pursuit of the Division 2 title with a hard-earned 6-4 away win against Batheaston B. Dave Carter stole the show with a maximum for the victors, for whom Chris Chapmen and Matt Timpson also won games. Richard Cotton and Phil Gentle won a pair each for the home team.

Elsewhere Ensleigh B were beaten 6-4 at home by Batheaston C, despite a treble from Olly Newton and a further point from Brendan Rouse. William Avery and Paul Adams both carded braces for the visitors, and Joel Adams was also on the scoresheet.

Chippenham A remain in pole position to pick up another Premier Division winner’s trophy, but were made to work hard for a 6-4 home success against two-man Oldfield A, for whom Alan Champneys claimed an excellent hat-trick. Terry Parkins, Jerry Musselwhite, and John Clifford all won a game each for the current champions.

Last season’s runners-up Oldfield B were defeated for the first time this season, by six games to four at Bristol Civil Service. Abid Khan took the honours for the hosts with a maximum, and Dave Busari weighed in with a double. Paul Redman (2) Jim Stevens, and Nigel Dagger earned points for Oldfield.

Bitton are the current leaders of Division 1, and they recorded an 8-2 win at home to Oldfield D, whose only points were earned by Greg Burridge. Chris Toft starred for Bitton with a treble, and both Alan Papier and Fred Martin chipped in with braces.

Newly promoted Bear Flat A continued their impressive start to the season with a 6-4 home win against title chasing Chippenham C, for whom Paul Vincent and Andy Perham both registered pairs. Paul Green led the way for the victors with yet another hat-trick, and he was backed up by Pete Gibbs and Andy Steady who won a game each.
