Despite this defeat, Wickford Cricket Club remain top of Division 2 but now by only 2 points from Stanford 'C', and these two teams will battle it out to be champions at the end of the season.  In this match, hat-tricks from Terry Giddens and Lee McGonagle (his first of the season) saw Canvey run out 6/4 winners.  Two of Lee's wins came at deuce in the deciding set and, in his words, 'everything went on for him on the night'.  A blank night for Jo Hills unfortunately.
