The match of the week in Division 2 saw leaders 3D’s defeated by Hanson Pidgeons 18 – 23. Marie Dyke won her three and Nicky Downs two for 3D’s. Pidgeons had captain Nathan Shears to thank as he won two, including an outstanding win over Nicky. Adam Shears (Pidgeons) won one but was unlucky to lose to Nicky in five games as well as Marie, going down 11-8, 9-11, 7-11, 11-0, 11-7. It was the same for Simon Przeklasa (Pidgeons) who also won one and lost to Marie in five games, before going down to Nicky 11-8, 9-11, 6-11, 11-9, 13-11. The experienced pair of Marie & Nicky turned out for 3D’s against the young pair of Nathan & Adam who eventually managed an excellent win 7-11, 6-11, 11-8, 13-11, 3-11.

 Hanson Kestrals came up against the youngsters from Test Valley ‘A’ and recorded a convincing 30 – 1 win. Test Valley fought hard and Chris Melville did take a game off Daniel Abbott (Kestrals). Annabel Anderson (TV ‘A’) also gave Daniel a run for his money finally going down 11-6, 15-13, 11-9. Harry Scobie (TV ‘A’) playing his first match found it a little hard going, but will undoubtedly improve with more matches.

Enham took on Hanson Lions which resulted in a 14 – 21 defeat that moves Lions to the top of the table. Pete Farmer (Enham) was unlucky to lose this match as he won all his three with Patrick Baker managing one. Darren Walkom and Mike Bonarius won two each with Ross Walkom who played very well only getting one.


In Division 1 Tigers put out their strongest team to catch Pumas at the top of the table and completed a convincing 28 – 6 win over Hanson Cougars. As usual Malcolm Cummins and Andy Snellgrove both won three for Tigers, although Andy was pushed hard by Andy Barnes (Cougars) before clinching it 11-7, 5-11, 9-11, 11-6, 11-3. Reserve Tony Brown (Tigers) won two but lost to Andy Barnes in four games and only just managed to defeated Chris Stockdale (Cougars) 14-12, 12-10, 11-7.  

Hanson Pumas continued their winning ways with an equally convincing 28 – 9 win over Hanson ‘A’, with Richard Fettes and Andy Whitcher both winning three. Justin Shoemark (Pumas) won two just losing to Josh White (Hanson ‘A’) in four games. Josh was unlucky not to win another set when he went down 8-11, 11-2, 11-8, 8-11, 11-3 to Richard.

Hanson Leopards lost to the in form team Figheldean 5 – 30 for whom Brian Cook, Lionel Coles and Julie Dean all won three. Rob Macey (Dolphins) worked hard to take firstly Brian then Julie to five sets before losing 5-11, 11-6, 11-4, 3-11, 11-13 and 8-11, 14-12, 4-11, 12-10, 4-11 respectively.

Hanson Panthers were down to two players again so suffered a heavy 10 – 26 defeat to Hanson Jaguars. However James Taylor (Panthers) played very well to win two. Trevor Whitelock (Jaguars) was undefeated and won his two, with Sue Purton and Graham Audin winning one each.
