Andover Advertiser Report 181113

The only game in Division 2 this week saw two of the leading contenders with 3D’s taking on Hanson E. 3D’s came out on top winning 7 - 3 with nobody managing to win three. Marie Dyke, Nicky Downs and Brian Dyke all won two each for 3D’s, whilst Karl Jones managed two for Hanson E. Marie beat Karl but lost to Rhys Jones 11-7, 10-12, 11-5, 6-11 & 9-11. This was a really excellent win for young Rhys and shows how much improvement he has made since last season.

In Division 1 Hanson Lions recorded a hard fought 5 - 5 draw with Hanson C. As usual Andy Barnes won his three, but was not aided by his team mates. Manish Chitnis and young Zac Hine played very well to win two each. Nick George is kicking himself, as he was four points up towards the end of each fifth game, but lost to Manish 8-11, 11-2, 9-11, 11-3 & 12-10 and to Zac 11-8, 11-6, 7-11, 8-11 & 12-10.

Hanson B failed to overcome a two man Figheldean and lost 4 – 6. Lionel Coles won his three for Figheldean, supported by two from Phil Cook who was unlucky to lose to Trevor Whitelock 11-7, 6-11, 9-11, 11-9 & 11-6.

Hanson A had an easy 10 – 0 win over Wallop Wanderers with the only hard match being the doubles. Three each for Dan Geary, Josh White and Peter Henderson plus the doubles completed the rout.

Division 1 leaders Pumas had an easy 10-0 win over Hanson D. Danas Kairys, Richard Fettes and Shaun Carver all won three each.
