An interesting clash in Division 2 between Hanson E and Enham resulted in a 4-6 win for Enham. Andy Farmer won his usual three, but this week was well supported by James Taylor who won two and they both combined to take the doubles. The surprise here was that Patrick Baker did not win any, being beaten by both Jonny Macey and Rhys Jones. Karl Jones played well for Hanson E winning two.
In Division 1 there was a top of the table clash between last year’s runners up Hanson A and last year’s champions Tigers. The result was an emphatic 2-8 win for Tigers with Malcolm Cummins winning three, together with three from a back to form Andy Snellgrove.
Hanson B & C entertained each other, with the C team recording a good 3-7 win, thanks to three from Andy Barnes. Trevor Whitelock and Nick George had the usual five set match with, as usual, Trevor taking it 9-11, 17-15, 5-11, 11-7 & 11-4. The doubles was an interesting match with Hanson C coming back from 1-6 down in the fifth to take it 11-7, 7-11, 11-7, 9-11 & 9-11.
Pumas had an expected 9-1 win over Wallop Wanderers, with three each for Richard Fettes and Ray Carver. Rob Macey had a good four set win over Danas Kairys and was unlucky to loose in five sets to Ray Carver, going down 11-4, 6-11, 13-11, 4-11 & 11-9.
Newly promoted Hanson D were well beaten by a strengthened Figheldean 0-10, in a very one sided match. Phil Cook, Tony Brown and Lionel Coles all won three for Figheldean
