Hanson E of Division 2 had a busy week playing both Tuesday and Friday. Their first match was away against Hanson F, whom they beat 1-9. Both Karl and Rhys Jones won three each, but Jonny Macey lost 14-12, 11-5, 9-11 & 11-4 to the wily veteran Roy Horner. This season Hanson F have some inexperienced players who will only get stronger after playing more matches.

Next up was a home match against Test Valley A, resulting in a 7-3 win. Again Karl Jones won his three, but the youngsters from Test Valley showed a lot of fighting spirit to stay in the match. Jonny Macey won two, but only just overcame Ray Lockington in five sets, 14-12, 11-3, 6-11, 4-11 & 11-8 and lost to Adam Lockington, 11-6, 9-11, 10-12, 11-9 & 7-11. Rhys Jones did not have a good night and only just managed to beat Matt Selwood 11-2, 11-4, 9-11, 6-11 & 11-8.

 

In Division 1 Wallop Wanderers defeated the newly promoted team of Hanson D, 7-3. This was a very close match despite the 7-3 result. Rob Macey won his three, but was taken to five sets by Chris Farrar, 11-7, 11-7, 9-11, 10-12 & 11-6. Wanderers Paul Raymond won two, but lost to Mike Cartridge, 4-11, 11-9, 11-7 & 8-11. Dom Raymond was unfortunate to lose in five sets twice, firstly to Ben Addington, 11-6, 7-11, 7-11, 11-5 & 6-11, then to Chris Farrar, 11-9, 11-4, 5-11, 3-11 & 6-11. The doubles were equally close with Wanderers just edging it 11-6, 9-11, 11-7, 6-11 & 11-0.
