Northumbria Table Tennis League Weekly Report – 07 July 2019
There was just one game in Division 1 this week which was between Brandon Air and Cramlington Casuals. Brandon came out on top with a 7-3 win with Jamie Lupton and Richard Johnson both winning their three games and combining to win the doubles. The Cramlington team of James Bradbury, Gareth Pearson and Steve Pearce all won one game each.
The top two teams in Division 2 were in action this week and consolidated their positions at the top of the table. Mount B overcame Tyneside TTC A 8-2 with Dan Dodds being player of the match winning his three games, supported by Mohinder Rawat and Dave Cutler who both won two games each. Mark Kimberley gained the wins for Tyneside. North East Chinese Association recorded a straightforward 9-1 win over Durham Bombers. Chun Yin Yu, and David Byers both won their three games for NECA. Daniel Hutchinson gained the consolation win for Durham beating Keming Lee.
In Division 3 Cramlington Cobras maintained their unbeaten start to the season with an 8-2 win over Matfen Tribunes. Bernie McArdle was player of the match for Cramlington winning his three games with Pete Wilkinson and Lynsey Storey winning two games apiece. Stefan Sobel and Keith Hodges won one game each for Matfen. This win keeps Cramlington Cobras in top sot in the division. In the other game in the week Mount C overcame Cramlington Trojans with a 6-4 win which saw the Mount team move into second place and the Trojans drop to third. The experienced Charlie Mouzon was player of the match winning his three games supported by Mick Hope who won two games. The points from Cramlington came from Anthony Doyle who won two games; and Richard Williamson and Robe Lee who won one each.
In Division 4 Cramlington Ravens jumped into second place with a straightforward 9-1 win over Cramlington Dynamoswho had been in second place. Israel Shoedinde and Jack Cairns both won their three games for the Ravens with Roy Hugill winning two games each. The consolation point for the Dynamos was gained by Alan Roskilly who edged out Roy Hugill in a close game. Outson A kept the pressure on the top two with an 8-2 win over Backspin TTC B which moved them into third place. The Ouston points were gained by Andy Harris who won his three games, and Duncan Hindmarsh and Jamie Milroy both won two games apiece.
In Division 5 Matfen Cohorts consolidated their top place with a 7-3 win over title contenders Cramlington Jaguars. Mark Perrin and Richard Rayfield both won their three games and combined to win the doubles. The Cramlington team of Mick Sursham, Abdel Warayet, and Gavin Wilson each won one game. Backpsin TTC C kept up the pressure on the top two with a 7-3 win over Ouston B, John Cook was player of the match for Backspin winning his three games with two wins each from Graham Burton and Robert Park. In the all Cramlington affair it was a 5-5 draw between Cramlington Knights and Cramlington Dragons. Matthew Mastaglio was player of the match for the Knights winning his three games.
