Six matches took place in the Second Division this week, with new leaders Torbay Academy 3 playing 3 times and collecting a total of 18 points. They had wins over their colleagues from Academy 4, 6-4, NA Hawks 7-3 and played out a 5-5 draw against previous leaders Brixham Seals, whose Philip Avery was unbeaten. Jakub Piwowar, Simon Furgol and Bubai Roy all collected maximums for Academy 3. NA Falcons, with Giles Tushingham and Ed Crawford unbeaten, boosted their title hopes with a 9-1 victory over Brixham Seals, and sit in 3^rd place in the table just 5 points off the top and with 3 games in hand.  NA Eagles are still in the mix following a 7-3 win over Marldon, with Curtis Sage and Jim McIvor on form for the Eagles. Just 6 points separate the top four teams.  Martin Dilkes, in a rich vein of form, was again unbeaten as his Taverners side defeated NA Hawks 8-2.

In the First Division there was a terrific contest between two Newton Abbot sides, as the Buzzards narrowly defeated the Batmen 6-4, with Jon Cheung unbeaten for the Buzzards.  Runaway leaders Torbay Academy 1, had a whitewash victory over their second string to open up a 17-point lead at the top. Basement side, and still without a win, Brixham Pirates, pushed Torbay Academy 2 all the way, winning the last doubles to secure the draw, Dan Barnett took a maximum for the Academy side.

The Third Division leaders, Denbury Tykes, had their match called off following the heavy snow at the weekend, which allowed their colleagues from Marldon Tykes to close the gap at the top to 14 points. Marldon Tykes, helped by a maximum from Kevin Ayling, defeated Dawlish Diamonds 7-3. The Diamonds bounced right back to record a similar scoreline as they defeated the Tigers from Torre, with Bruce Freeman unbeaten for the Diamonds. Torre Tigers’ week didn’t improve as they went down 7-3 against Torbay Academy 5, with Harrison Grainger and Craig Collins taking maximums for the Academy.

Leaders of the 4^th Division, Torbay Academy 7, went down 4-6 to a Matt Cyron-inspired NA Vultures. Second-placed Torbay Academy 6 had to fight all the way to defeat NA Kites 6-4, with Matt Frettsome again unbeaten for the Academy side. NA Owls kept their title interest up with a convincing 9-1 over Dawlish Drifters, with the Bayliss family, Rob, Dylan and Rowan, winning all their singles but letting the final doubles slip away. Andrew Connor was in fine form for Torres R Us but could not prevent the Ospreys from Newton Abbot winning 7-3. The result of the week goes to basement side Dawlish Dodgers, who picked up their first win of the season, defeating Brixham Swifts 6-4. Chris Tudball led the victory with a fine maximum, backed up by Barry Miles and Adrian Tee. Home support helped them through the final doubles to victory, as all their colleagues from the club gathered around to cheer on the Dodgers.

Just the one Cup match was played, which saw NA Eagles progress into the Challenge Cup Semi Final with a fine 5-2 victory over Torbay Academy 7. Curtis Sage, Jim McIvor and Andy Tyrrell proved too steady for the 4^th Division leaders.
